Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issues updatesThe Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) periodically provides updates on Vaccine Information Sheets (VIS), recommended immunizations for healthcare workers, hepatitis B, hazard identification and work related injury prevention recommendations, disaster news, and general wellness topics. Ninth Brain provides its clients with the latest releases from the CDC pertaining to health care providers as we post these updates in NBS. This is just one of the many ways Ninth Brain gives you access to solutions to put your mind at ease. Listed below are examples of the resources posted on NBS. • VIS for Hepatitis B - this is the vaccine information sheet that is required to be given to recipients of hepatitis B vaccine before each dose is administered. All healthcare providers are mandated by federal law to provide vaccine recipients with a current copy of a VIS for those vaccines covered by the law. • VIS for Influenza - Inactivated - this is the vaccine information sheet that is required to be given to recipients of inactivated influenza vaccine before each dose is administered. All healthcare providers administering immunizations are mandated by federal law to provide vaccine recipients with a current copy of a VIS for those vaccines covered by the law. • Blast Lung Injury: An Overview for Prehospital Care Providers includes a brief description of the problem, clinical symptoms and a protocol for the management of blast lung injuries. CDC issues guidance on blast lung injury. • Adult Immunization recommendations from CDC and APIC are now available in a QuickGuide format. The guide provides information for adult immunizations based on their medical conditions and/or work environment including recommendations for Healthcare Providers. |
